Field lines
A small drawing instrument that turns a single density value into a field of curved lines.
One input, a visible consequence
Field lines is an experiment in making a digital control feel understandable. A range input changes the number of curves in a bounded drawing. The relationship between action and result is direct: more density produces more lines. There is no hidden model, external API, or unexplained loading state.
Variation inside a rule
The curves share a simple mathematical construction. Their spacing and bend create a woven visual rhythm without random noise. The drawing remains deterministic, so the same setting returns the same field. That makes the experiment useful as a study of interaction rather than an endlessly changing decorative background.
A small enough instrument
The range is intentionally limited. The piece is not a production illustration tool, an audio visualizer, or a simulation of a physical force. It is an original code-native study in the relationship between a control, a rule, and a visible surface. Its small scope makes the interaction easy to inspect and understand.
