Attention,
without urgency.
This portfolio imagines a practice built around patient looking. A swimming ladder, a curtain, a piece of fruit: things that become interesting through their relationship with a place rather than their rarity.
The images share a restrained palette but do not belong to one location. They move between the openness of a coast, the intimacy of an interior, and the small landscape of a table. Each study is accompanied by notes that make its compositional decisions available to the reader.
Nola is a fictional identity. The photographs were generated specifically for this project and are labeled accordingly. They are not presented as commissioned work, an exhibition record, or evidence of real travel.
Working notes
A possible editorial collaboration would begin with a subject and a way of looking. Before making images, define what must remain visible, what can be withheld, and how the sequence should change the reader’s pace. A restrained page gives those questions enough room.
