A practice of making room.
Rue Space is a fictional spatial practice working through small, original concept studies. Each proposal begins with a relationship: inside and outside, solitary and shared, permanent and temporary. The interest is in how a few carefully placed surfaces can change the way a room is understood.
Start with what is already there
A threshold, a window, a patch of daylight, or a place where people naturally pause can carry more information than a blank plan. These studies imagine modest interventions around those conditions. They do not claim to solve a real site, but they establish questions that a real design process could test.
Images and explanations
The images are original generated concepts. The accompanying diagrams are original drawings that explain spatial relationships without claiming survey accuracy. Neither replaces technical design, consultation, or construction documentation. Their purpose is to make the design conversation concrete while leaving room for revision.
A smaller brief
The projects share a preference for readable materials and useful spaces. Brick gives depth to a doorway. Ash shelves and a colored working surface make a room legible. Plywood tiers create a gathering place within a larger hall. These material descriptions are directions for discussion, not verified product specifications.
