A relationship
made visible.
Fold begins with a simple contradiction: a continuous surface that does not quite close. The ribbon turns through space, becoming both an edge and a plane. Its opening is not an absence to fill, but the part of the object that gives the surrounding material a purpose.
The image is a way of testing the thought, not a record of a completed physical object. Scale, light, and material appearance are composed together so that the central relationship can be read clearly.

A closer reading
of the surface.
The bronze direction brings a sense of accumulated time to the image. Dark oxidized areas sit beside rubbed edges that catch the light. Those changes make the same surface appear alternately heavy and thin as the eye moves around the loop.
What remains
unresolved.
The narrow gap prevents the silhouette from becoming a complete symbol. It leaves a small uncertainty in an otherwise grounded form. The low plinth gives the object a clear relation to the surface beneath it without pretending to resolve its balance physically.
A useful study leaves something to develop. The image can suggest how a form might hold space, but it cannot establish material behavior, fabrication, stability, or suitability for a real setting. Those would belong to a separate physical process.
