A short introduction
Care is a
technical skill.
I’m Mika Rowan, a fictional independent developer working where interface design meets implementation. This portfolio is an original demonstration of a small, deliberate practice.
I like projects with a clear reason to exist. An archive that helps someone find an overlooked document. A drawing tool that makes a relationship visible. A website whose structure can still be understood when the visual layer is removed.
Working together
A good start is a conversation about the thing you need to make possible. I turn that into a small prototype, test the assumptions and build from the parts that prove useful. Scope, content and access requirements come before visual polish.
I document decisions while they are fresh. That includes the ideas we leave behind, the tradeoffs we accept and the behavior that a future maintainer should preserve. The handoff should feel like a continuation of the project, not its disappearance.
