A relationship
made visible.
Counterform begins with two forms that seem to belong to different systems. A porous rectangular stone frame establishes weight and direction. A brushed steel disc interrupts it with a reflective circular surface. The opening becomes the place where the two ideas meet.
The image is a way of testing the thought, not a record of a completed physical object. Scale, light, and material appearance are composed together so that the central relationship can be read clearly.

A closer reading
of the surface.
The material contrast is deliberately narrow: warm porous stone, cool brushed metal, and a pale base. Light travels across each in a different way. The stone holds a stable texture, while the disc changes with the angle of reflection.
What remains
unresolved.
The apparent balance is part of the generated image, not a verified engineering condition. The study explores how an object can suggest tension through proportion and contact. Any physical realization would need its own material and structural development.
A useful study leaves something to develop. The image can suggest how a form might hold space, but it cannot establish material behavior, fabrication, stability, or suitability for a real setting. Those would belong to a separate physical process.
