Good plans don’t need more noise.
They need a shared view of what matters, what’s moving, and what’s ready.

IDEAOWNERNEXT MOVE

Give every idea a direction.

A useful title, a clear owner, and a place in the flow. Start with enough context to move.

Make progress legible.

See planned work, active effort, review, and completion without another status meeting.

Close the loop with care.

Keep open work and release decisions together. Hand off the context, not just the task.

CAPTURE THE WORK

A thought becomes
a next step.

Turn a loose request into something a person can own. Keep its context attached all the way through review.

MA thought from the team

“The first screen should tell people what they can do next.”

Useful context, not another loose thread.

PLAN WITH THE WHOLE PICTURE

Four stages.
One steady rhythm.

A board when you need the shape of the work. A list when you need the detail. Both reflect the same local plan.

REVIEW BEFORE RELEASE

Finish the work.
Keep the decisions visible.

A completed task and a ready release are different things. Check the handoff, accessibility, and recovery before calling it done.

BUILT AROUND THE SIGNAL

Attention is
a finite resource.

Switchboard keeps the surface quiet so the work can be specific. The title, the owner, the state, and the next conversation.

This is a working local concept. No signup, invented automation, or hidden service. Your decisions stay yours.

THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

Clear by design.

A few honest answers about how this concept works.

What can I actually do here?

Add and edit work, assign owners, change status and priority, switch between board and list, search, check release gates, and export a Markdown handoff.

Where is the plan saved?

In this browser’s local storage. There is no remote account or team sync. If storage is unavailable, the current page still works and reports that changes are page-only.

Does marking a release ready deploy anything?

No. The release room is a planning checklist. Its export is a document, not a deployment or a message to teammates.

Can I restore the original example?

Yes. The workspace has a reset action with an explicit confirmation dialog. Export your current plan first if you want to keep it.
